Webiste Analysis and Research 3: Fall Out Boy

Images and Logo: The band doesn't have a real logo or Icon in the way that Blink have their Smiley Face. There isn't a massive load of images, in fact only two original images are on the page. Their greatest hits album and a picture of the band along the top. This in itself is out of date, as the band split up 2009.
Genre: The genre is only really clear because of the "pointy" looking emo kid style font, and the image of the band. The way they are dressed fits the emo, pop punk conventions.
New Technology and Links: As is typical with all band websites now, there are links to the usual twitter, facebook and myspace pages. Since the band are now split, there are also links to the bands other projects and their facebook pages etc.
Colour and Style: The colours on the page are fairly muted, quite dull looking. It's not unlike the colour scheme of a middle aged accountants bathroom, and doesn't really feel like emo pop punk to me.
Written Content: The written content is much the same as with New Found Glory's website, very informal, lots of personal pronouns and exclamation marks.
Font and Layout: The font is basically a normal, easy to read font.
Target Audience: The use of adverts and images are designed to keep the audiences interest, while the "personal blogs" for each individual band member (not pictured) suggest a close connection between band and audience.
Advertisements: The only advert is for the bands greatest hits. Obviously they won't be touring because they're broken up but there are adverts to donate to various charities, giving the band a charitable image.
